Who is eligible for the reduced contribution?

To be eligible for a subsidized space, you must reside in Québec and have one of the following statuses:

  1. be a Canadian citizen;
  2. be a permanent resident;
  3. hold a work permit (or be exempt from the obligation to hold such a permit) and live in Québec primarily to work there;
  4. be a foreign student, holder of a certificate of acceptance and recipient of a bursary from the Gouvernement du Québec;
  5. be recognized as a refugee, a person in need of protection or a Protected Person and hold a selection certificate issued under the Immigration Act in Québec;
  6. hold a temporary resident permit in view of the eventual granting of permanent residence and the selection certificate issued under the Immigration Act in Québec;
  7. be authorized to apply for permanent residence or hold the selection certificate issued under the Immigration Act in Québec.

Moreover, you must also be able to provide the documents required, depending on your situation. The list of documents to be provided is indicated in the "Application to determine eligibility for the reduced contribution" form.
