Who is eligible for the reduced contribution?

For your child to receive subsidized childcare services, you must be eligible for the reduced contribution. To be eligible, you must reside in Québec and meet one of the following conditions:

  1. be a Canadian citizen;
  2. be a permanent resident;
  3. hold a work permit (or be exempt from the obligation to hold such a permit) and live in Québec primarily to work there (an asylum seeker with a work permit is not eligible);
  4. be a foreign student, holder of a certificate of acceptance and recipient of a bursary from the Gouvernement du Québec;
  5. be recognized as a refugee, a person in need of protection or a Protected Person and hold a selection certificate issued under the Immigration Act in Québec;
  6. hold a temporary resident permit in view of the eventual granting of permanent residence and the selection certificate issued under the Immigration Act in Québec;
  7. be authorized to apply for permanent residence or hold the selection certificate issued under the Immigration Act in Québec.

Moreover, you must submit the required documents depending on your situation. The list of documents to be provided is indicated in the Application to determine eligibility for Reduced Contribution form. Here are examples:

  1. Proof of Québec residency
  2. Birth certificate for you and your child
  3. Signed childcare service agreement
  4. Attestation to the childcare provided delivered by your previous childcare provider
  5. Proof of the absence of childcare services at school or lack of available space
  6. Proof of exemption from the contribution
