To be admissible, a request for access must be specific enough to allow identification of a document or information and must be addressed in writing or by phone to the person in charge of access to documents and the protection of personal information. Only a response transmitted following a written request can be reviewed by the Commission d’accès à l’information.
Any request for access to or correction of personal information must be addressed, in writing, to the Department's person in charge of access to documents and the protection of personal information. You must indicate your full mailing address so that we can ensure processing of your request.
Response time to a request
A response will be sent to you within 20 days after the date of receipt of your request. If necessary, this period may be extended by 10 days.
Fees required
Fees not exceeding the cost of its transcription, transmission or reproduction may be charged. If this is the case for your request, we will inform you of the approximate amount before copying the documents for you.
The fees are detailed in Schedule 1 of the
Regulation respecting fees for transcription, transmission or reproduction of documents and personal information.
If your written request was refused or you did not obtain a response, you may file an application for review with the Commission d’accès à l’information, within 30 days of refusal of the request or the expiry of the period to respond to it.
