Financial Support Program for Indigenous Family Organizations

Objectives

The aim of the Financial Support Program for Indigenous Family Organizations is to support the roll-out of Indigenous Family Centres in order to ensure that Indigenous families and children have access to local services that offer solutions tailored to their needs, all while safeguarding the Indigenous culture and respecting the cultural relevance of the Indigenous Peoples.

More specifically, the goal of the Program is to provide these families with additional support and assistance services on top of those already provided by the public system.

Proposition:
Specifically, it aims to increase access to community-based services in response to the needs of Indigenous families and children, and to enhance support and accompaniment services that complement those available through the public system.

Eligible Applicants

The following communities and organizations are eligible for the Program:

  • Communities of Indigenous Peoples recognized by the Assemblée nationale du Québec
  • The Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador and its commissions
  • Indigenous non-profit organizations, both in and out of community
  • Indigenous community action organizations, both in and out of community

Submitting an Application

For fiscal 2022-2023, the Financial Assistance Application Form must be submitted by October 31, 2022.

For subsequent years, all new Financial Assistance Application Forms must be submitted to the Ministère between April 1 and June 30 of each year.

The signed Financial Assistance Application Form must be submitted to the Direction de la planification et des stratégies – Familles et enfance as per the instructions on the Financial Assistance Application Form.
